This experience matrix illustrates how pedestrians think about their landmarks. Each depiction represents a landmark described during the walking interview. For many people, a small detail or part represents the whole of the landmark. This matrix maps each participant’s response as positive or negative, and if that experience is intimate or remote.

Personal descriptions of space are shown in the video below as subjective landmarks. Each reference point is built from descriptive keywords given for each landmark by participants during the walking interview.
