ras+e is a miraculous inevitability because blah blah blah design is fine art and blah blah trends blah they are so now. we’re very happy about all that. but we don’t have any answers about how we brainconjoined. thesis overlay. these things just seem to happen but first happened when e fingerworded bits of her life and left them to cool on the windowsill. ras happened by, his literary hunger and sticky fingers and the crumbs were photoshopped and read back to the author from amongst the tea leaves. ras+e arose from these humble discussengines. propulsioncombustion. liftoff. favors returned and the lines between literature and picked email nits evaporated in the prepubescent sunrise of the collaboration. words will be words but the tires first engaged, producing smoke as the slots of a portable cardboard missile. first in-ed and out-ed on camera, e’s camera, the gravity gave way to science and the collaborators were quick studies in the what ifs of designer as megaphoning street artist. they called their next invented (but ultimately unstable and very brief) element pixel missiles. after physically digitizing the glass sandcrawler, they spoke their writing to each other through a cardboard puzzle, by neon strobe light, including time. the duo attacked nyc’s sidewalks with chalk, with cardboard, and with gusto. they visualized data. they saw cementropy. again under cover of darkness and snow, ras+e constructed a lean-to atop a baltimore parking garage to house their extensive broadcasting gear. bare to the elements and the spotlightglare, they ignored and communicated. the verbosity of their words had been sent by light, by blue bird, by neon, and finally by corrugated cavernosum. they were getting the word out, their paper tigers were inked and bleeding. but blackwhithered was too perfect an explosion. so they launched an air raid. 400 fell while 200 danced. one hundred were written off and one hundred told they did not belong. throughout it all, the two self-proclaimed collision gurus, communication enthusiasts, and medium aggragists continued their laughpokes. the year turned and they began cyanotyping digital real. with wilting plastic and a partially clawed tub, they remixed earnestly. big, bigger, bluest. cutcopypastecopy standardized paperwork and sneakily hijacked tax forms. surprise! you have a thought! then the two miti-gators blue the re:form up. big, bigger, bluest. still, the message rang manipulatively. if a little black dress didn’t drop language seductively through the ear canals, then language needed to be undressed. with re:morse, ras+e became html+css, a code disguise as seductive as a noir dream. language versus silence, structure versus nuance, boy versus girl, digital versus physical, ink versus flesh. the narrative continues as their freshly scrubbed bodies took again to the glass sandcrawler with projector graffiti in mind. while sirens howled around it, the baltimore sandcrawler became the re:volver barking back. a final foray into remixed noise as a helping hand, the two artists decided to re:pair youth’s understanding of sex. then onward. ras+e is brewing loud accessibility at a fervent rate/pitch. the broadcast needed a loudspeaker and a little bit of logic. with some muslin castoffs mauled previously by a plotter, ras+e began building a stage, writing a script, and weaving their grand explosion. they exploded and in the re:fuse, wiped their goggles and grabbed staple guns, intent on lining up their next broadside attack.
